African Royal Awards 2016 Highlights & full list of all the categories, nominees and the respective winners for each category.

The African Royal Awards is the awards show which celebrates and recognizes hardworking men and women in the Italian entertainment sector as well as groups, organizations or individuals that helps entertain, educate and promote the works and good deeds of the African people in the diaspora. The African Royal Awards also in addition recognizes international acts, groups & organizations who share the same objectives.




The maiden edition took place on October 17, 2015 which featured international acts DSP Kofi Sarpong, Lord of No Tribe Fame, Kofi Adomah Nwawanii of Adom FM and gained endorsements from A-List African celebrities like Shatta Wale, Emelia Brobbey, Ellen White and much more. It featured over 90 nominees in 23 different categories ranging from Best Actor, Best Afropop/Hiphop Artist, Best Fashion Designer, Best Model, Best Sound Engineer, Best International Act and much more. The 2015 ARA also honoured 11 people, groups and organizations for their continuous and relentless work in building the African community in Italy and Europe.

This year's event was an improvement on all standards as compared to last year's edition. This year, the African Royal Awards featured 22 categories ranging from Best Afropop/Hiphop Artist, Best Actor, Best DJ, etc. Which brought out the biggest names in Music, Film, Fashion to the African Royal Awards which was held yet again in Brescia, Italy at the Santa Giulia Theatre on Saturday September 17th.
