US Ambassador to Kenya criticized online after posting photo of two students shortly after they were denied visa





Kenyans are currently bashing the US Ambassador to their country, Kyle McCarter, on Twitter.



Carter shared this photo of himself posing with these two Kenyan pupils who came to the Embassy for visa applications but were denied. The students were shortlisted for a chess competition in the US. The US envoy shared the photo with some encouraging words for the students. He wrote


''In the visa line yesterday I met this fine young boy and girl. They are Kenya Chess Champions! Although a trip to the US was not possible this time I reminded them that They Are Champions & we are friends! This is the future of Kenya. #USAmarafiki''.



Kenyans are however calling him out online, accusing him of using the pupils for clout. According to them, the diplomat had the power to make their dreams come true but refused but rather he is using them for clout. He however replied some of the attacks at him. See their exchange below..
